Licensed Massage Therapists & Nurses
Just a quick background about myself. I knew at 6 years old I wanted to be a nurse; I remember drawing a stick figure girl with a red cross on her hat in my first-grade class. And, when I was in H.S. I decided to go to BOCES for Practical Nursing before I turned 19. I worked several years as a staff nurse in a hospital when patients started to become room numbers instead of people. I chose to go into home care at that time so I could provide quality care to my patients. But after several years that became mundane and I was becoming interested in more holistic approach so I went back to school for massage therapy. Then several years after that I decided to become an R.N.
I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2001 and established Massage For Life in 2002. I started with a home office and just a few clients while still working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. My nursing background brought me into the special needs community to provide massages for individuals living within a group home. I started with 7 kids and 1 house and now have over 50 individuals' in 17 group homes with 8 employees including both nurses and LMT's. My home office has now expanded to 2 locations where we offer therapeutic and medical massages.
